”I thoroughly enjoyed taking your airbrush workshop. It was very informative and it gave me the confidence I needed to be able to do the projects I have been working on. I wish I had known about you when I first had gotten my airbrush. My favorite carvings I work on are birds and now what I have learned from your course it makes the final touches and outcome much more alive and the blend of colors more vibrant. I have recommended your course to a number of my fellow carvers, and I hope they will attend your workshop and get the same benefits as I did and be able to utilize them in their future carvings.

Thanks again!” – Ralph H., Staatsburg, NY

"I attended your beginning airbrush class two weeks ago and absolutely fell in love with this medium..."--Jaclyn J., March 14, 2005

Schedule

10 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Working in Black and White

Designed for the person who has never before used an airbrush or for those who have used an airbrush without success, this time-proven class in basic airbrush has been taught throughout the U.S.   Students will learn how to handle and hook up an airbrush, what air sources to use, what materials are compatible, what working surfaces are suitable and their preparation and the simple maintenance procedures that are required.  A high-quality Iwata airbrush will be used by students as they render a series of pre-printed exercises while learning the fundamentals of airbrush technique.

2 – 5 p.m. – Working in Color

In the afternoon session, students will be introduced to the methods of working with the airbrush in color, both transparently and opaquely, as they develop images on a series of pre-printed exercises.  Discussed will be applicable paints, color mixing, paint reduction, development of highlights, glazing technique, working with stencils, friskets and Artool freehand templates, and more.

Upon completion, students will have the ability to apply airbrush techniques to their various disciplines—painting, illustration, photo retouching, custom auto/motorcycle art, hobbies and crafts, fingernails, tattoos and more.

“The workshop in February with Robert was great!  In such a short time I learned some techniques and tricks that will be very helpful to my brush artwork.  I feel less intimidated now to just go ahead and try and practice to achieve some remarkable results. I read ARTtalk all the time. It is a wonderful online source of information on all kinds of topics. Keep writing!” – Karen M., Locust, NJ

"I want to thank Robert for a very informative class.  I feel more comfortable in exploring the art of airbrushing.  Everyone beginning airbrushing should strongly consider this class to be the first step.  Thanks again." - Pat Starr, Pennsylvania

"Ron and I had a wonderful time at your airbrush workshop this past weekend. We both learned so much about airbrushing while having a lot of fun. Robert you are a very good teacher, and made everything seem so straight-forward and do-able. We also appreciated that you cared to know how we intended to use the airbrush and then included some information about those applications while you were demonstrating. The workshop was so well organized and it was exciting to be able to go home with so many samples, some more papers to experiment with, the booklets and the paint. Like kids, Ron and I both enjoy take-aways. You both made the workshop a very enjoyable experience.

Had a great time exploring around your town and the surrounding area. We look forward to coming back again for other workshops. Take care, Many thanks."-- Tori and Ron M., College Park, MD
