Prerequisite: Basic Airbrush Workshop or a working knowledge of the airbrush.

Come to the beautiful Adirondack Mountains and learn how to airbrush with automotive paints. Expert airbrush custom painter Pamela Shanteau will share her moneymaking secrets with you in this unique 2-day hands-on workshop. Everything from basic painting guidelines to advanced stenciling techniques will be demonstrated: airbrush control techniques, paint mixing, explanation of various paint types, masking techniques and materials, surface preparation, layout and design, flaming techniques and more.

The class projects will be two automotive motorcycle icons:

Freehand Flames and Skulls

         

All materials are provided for use in class:
Airbrush, tapes, masking materials, adhesives, and solvents; plus, to use in class and take home--a stencil knife, paints, respirator, template and a 16” x 20” Black Aluminum Blank for you to airbrush onto.

Pamela Shanteau – Bio

In this time of “specialists,” Pamela Shanteau is unique.  She airbrushes with great proficiency in many areas of airbrushing.  Her airbrush technique in automotive and motorcycle airbrushing, fine art, body art, fantasy art and commercial illustration is renowned among here peers.

The prestigious Watson-Guptill Publishing Company signed Pamela to author the best selling “Ultimate Airbrush Handbook,” released Feb. 2002 and sold at bookstores worldwide.  This unique instructional book covers a wide range of airbrush applications along with essential airbrush control exercises in an easy to read step-by-step format.

Pamela instructs airbrush technique at seminars all over the United States for Medea/Artool (Iwata Airbrushes) and Ampersand Art Supply (Claybord).  Locally, Pamela instructs adult art education for various organizations in the Ohio and Michigan regions.

Hot rods and motorcycles airbrushed by Pamela have been featured in the finest publications in the world.  The pages of Hot Rod, Popular Hot Rodding, AutoGraphics, Easy Rider, Biker Mag, Overdrive, 4-Wheel’in, Mini-Truckin’ and Airbrush Magazine, to name but a few, have showcased Pamela’s airbrushing expertise.  Airbrush Magazine featured Pamela on its cover along with Sign of the Times magazine. 

A how-to Automotive Airbrushing videotape series starring Pamela is available.

Pamela illustrates for many fantasy role-playing game companies, providing wonderful fantasy art for the games, book covers and trading cards.  Dragon Magazine, Wizards of the Coast’s Legend of the Five Rings, Legends of the Burning Sands and Soul of the Empire, Iron Crown’s Tolkien role-playing game, and Visionary Entertainment all feature fantasy art by Pamela.  Her art graces products from the Salamander mail order catalog and Royal Fireworks Press.  Pamela also markets original paintings, limited edition prints, and postcards.
