BEACON, NY---The Beacon Arts Community Association (BACA), a new organization dedicated to promoting the city of Beacon as a center for the arts, has announced its plans for a "Second Saturday" celebration in Beacon.  Nearly 30 regional art galleries, stores, and restaurants have all agreed to be open simultaneously, extending their hours until 9 p.m.

Located 60 miles north of Manhattan, Beacon has been described by The New York Times as "the Hudson Valley's most promising hot spot for contemporary art." " 'Second Saturday Beacon' will present the perfect opportunity for art aficionados and casual tourists alike to discover its diversity," says Ricardo Diaz, president of BACA. "Its timing is also ideal for holiday shoppers looking for the perfect gift and for seasonal revelers in search of a festive atmosphere."

A special "Second Saturday Beacon" map, published by BACA, will be on hand for all visitors, and a free trolley making several stops along Beacon's charming Main Street will also be available from noon - 9 p.m.
